Katya DJ isn’t in fact a DJ as her name might suggest, but a new singer/songwriter born and bred in London who is actively involved in the city’s gigging scene. Her most recent performances have included numerous Sofar Sounds secret gigs in London and New York. She also performed in Brighton as part of The Great Escape festival 2018.

 

Her set up includes herself, her guitar and a loop pedal which she uses live to intricately layer her vocal melodies alongside guitar loops, riffs and claps. Recently delving into the world of production through experimentation in her makeshift studio she is now self-producing her own tracks as well as collaborating with artists and is working towards the release of her debut EP.
